OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Volunteers are being sought for the Great Plains Food Bank food distribution this afternoon in Oakes.

Oakes Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kausha Magill says the mobile food pantry will be located in Wishek, Edgeley, and finally in Oakes on Thursday, Sept. 15.

The Mobile Food Pantry provides fresh vegetables, fruits, shelf-stable items, meat, bakery items, boxed goods and much more to communities in need. The Oakes stop will be at 401 Main Avenue in the alley behind Travel Inn from 5 to 5:45 pm.

Also on Thursday, Sept. 15, Magill says there will be a Job Service event from 10 AM to Noon.

Other events this week include Off the Shuelph in Guelph 10 year celebration Sept. 16 & 17, CHI Customer Appreciation Lunch Friday, Sept. 16 from 11AM to 1 PM for their 15th Anniversary, and the 13th Annual Bear Creek Roughriders Fund Day Horse Show Sunday, Sept. 18 starting at 11 AM.
