JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Three former Jamestown High School Athletes will be enshrined in the JHS Hall of Fame as part of Homecoming week for the Blue Jays.
Morgan (Dale) Blaskowski, Byran Flam, and Don Schmeichel are all headed into the Jamestown High School Hall of Fame after being voted in this past year by the Hall of Fame committee.
Morgan, a member of the Class of 2009, was a three sport athlete at Jamestown. She was five year letter winner with the basketball team, two-time all state member, and WDA Player of the Year during her senior season. She finished her high school career top 20 in all-time scoring and seventh in rebounds in the state. Morgan also played soccer and volleyball for the Blue Jays.
Bryan Flam, part of the Class of 1987, starred on the basketball court, leading Jamestown to a state championship in 1987. Flam was Mr. North Dakota Basketball his senior season and was the state runner up with the basketball teams from ’85 and ’86. He also played golf and was a member of the Jamestown American Legion baseball team.
Don Schmeichel, Class of 1990, dominated across three sports during his time at JHS. He was a five-season letter winner in cross country, winning a state championship in 1988. Schmeichel also was a three year letter winner in swimming, earning the first state championship in JHS history with his win in the 200 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle in 1990. He also ran track and field for four season and still has the indoor record in the 800m with a time of 1:58:1.

The inductees will be honored at 1:45 PM at Jamestown High School on Friday before the Homecoming Parade at 4:00 PM. Blaskowski, Flam, and Schmeichel will then be honored at the Homecoming Football Game against Watford City before a social at the Elks Club after the game.
