The University of Jamestown women’s golf team captured first place at the UJ Fall Invite, which concluded Tuesday at Jamestown Country Club.

Thirty-six holes were played on Monday with the final eighteen on Tuesday.

UJ FALL INVITE FINAL RESULTS

The UJ Orange team of Kyra Vogel (SO/Jamestown, N.D.), Faith Justesen (JR/Hawley, Minn.), Teagan Fee (SR/Havre, Mont.), Jayme Carlson (SR/Hartford, S.D.), and Haley Malone (SR/Moorhead, Minn.) finished the 54-hole event with a team score of 1086 (345-346-355), 71 shots ahead of the UJ Black team featuring Coley Olson (JR/Cook, Minn.), Taylor Martin (FR/Fargo, N.D.), Katelyn Vogel (FR/Bismarck, N.D.), and Celi Nelson (FR/Elbow Lake, Minn.). That team improved on each of its three rounds (390-364-363).

Valley City State (N.D.)  (383-370-369) came in third and Dickinson State (N.D.) placed fourth (398-386-382).

UJ Orange had five of the top seven finishers, led by Kyra Vogel‘s second place effort at 43-over 259 (84-86-89). Justesen was third at 45-over 261 (88-84-89), Fee fourth at 47-over 263 (86-89-88), Carlson fifth at 49-over 265 (89-87-89), and Malone seventh at 51-over 267 (87-90-90).

Martin led the Black team with an eighth-place finish at 54-over 270 (93-87-90). Olson tied for 11th at 64-over 280 (103-92-85), Nelson was 13th at 67-over 283 (93-93-97), and Katelyn Vogel tied for 14th at 68-over 284 (101-92-91).

Elly Leblanc of Dickinson State clamied first place at 30-over 246 (85-81-80).

Next up for the Jimmies is the Southwest Minnesota State Invite at Marshall Golf Course in Marshall, Minn., September 24-25.
