ORANGE CITY, Iowa (jimmiepride.com)– The University of Jamestown women’s golf team is in third place after the first round of the Siouxland Invite, which was played Wednesday at Landsmeer Golf Course.
SIOUXLAND INVITE DAY ONE RESULTS
The Jimmies shot a team score of 52-over 340, nine shots behind leader Briar Cliff (Iowa) and eight shots behind Mount Marty (S.D.)
Kyra Vogel (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) had the best round for UJ, finishing at 12-over 84 and is in 11th place. Jayme Carlson (SR/Hartford, S.D.) and Haley Malone (SR/Moorhead, Minn.) are tied for 12th at 13-over 85. Teagan Fee (SR/Havre, Mont.) is tied for 19th at 14-over 86, and Faith Justesen (JR/Hawley, Minn.) is tied for 51st at 26-over 98.
“We started on some of the toughest holes on the course today,” said UJ head coach Zach Hale. “But we kept after it and perservered! I’m proud of these ladies and excited for us to be in contention going into tomorrow’s final round.”
The tournament concludes Tuesday at The Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center, Iowa, beginning at 10 a.m.
