VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewDakota.com) – Avis Richter will be retiring from her city position as Finance Director next summer.

The Valley City Commission unanimously approved of appointing Brenda Klein to become the next Finance Director after Richter retires on August 12th of 2023.

The city commission also approved of appointing Brandy Johnson to become the next Deputy Auditor for the city starting August 12th of 2023.

The Valley City commission unanimously approved of appointing Klein and Johnson to those respective positions during their regular board meeting on Tuesday, September 6th.

Avis Richter has been employed by the city since December 15, of 1997. She has been the Auditor/Finance Director since February of 2006. In January of 2015, her title was updated to Finance Director and directing the fiscal operation of the Public Works departments was added to her job description.
