JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Turtle Mountain on Tuesday night while the boy’s soccer team fell 3-0 to Bismarck Legacy at home.

The #5 team in Class A picked up its 10th win of the year, taking care of Turtle Mountain in rapid fashion on Tuesday night. Seniors Haylie Hakanson and Bernadette Newman each had seven kills for the Blue Jays and Makenna Nold picked up six aces at the service line in the victory. Nold also picked up a team-high 17 assists and libero Aspyn Peterson tallied 18 digs to lead Jamestown. The Blue Jays, now 10-1 overall and 3-1 in the West Region, host St. Mary’s on Thursday night at 7:00 PM from Jerry Meyer Arena. In a rematch of the season opener, Legacy scored a goal in the fourth minute and then a pair of second-half goals in a shutout win over the Blue Jays. Jamestown, now 3-3-2 overall and in conference play, tallied just eight shots on goal for the match. The Sabers improved to a perfect 4-0-0 on the road while the Jays dropped to 1-3-0 on their home turf this season. Jamestown’s 11 points in the WDA is tied with Century for fourth place with Mandan just behind in sixth with 10 points. The Blue Jays travel to preseason favorite Minot for another conference match on Thursday night at 7:30 PM.
