SIOUX CITY, IA. (jimmiepride.com) – The sixth-ranked University of Jamestown volleyball team will look to keep their seven-match winning streak intact when they travel to North Sioux City, S.D., for the United Sports Academy/CSM Labor Day Classic hosted by College of Saint Mary (Neb.)

Jamestown (7-1) will play two matches on Friday and two more on Saturday, then will host No. 8 Northwestern (Iowa) College on Tuesday in the GPAC conference and home opener.

Live video of the weekend matches is being provided by BallerTV and will cost $25 for the entire event.

Tennesse Southern enters the weekend with an overall record of 3-5 and have lost their last three matches (3-1 vs. Life (Ga.), 3-0 vs. Columbia International (S.C.), and 3-2 vs. Bryan (Tenn.) The Firehawks finished 23-12 in 2021. This will be the first time UJ has faced Tennessee Southern in program history.

Saint Mary is off to a 4-1 start and went 3-0 at the Park (Mo.) University tournament last weekend. The Spires advanced to the KCAC tournament semifinals, losing to Ottawa (Kan.) and ended the 2021 season with a record of 22-10. The Jimmies hosted Saint Mary in the 2021 NAIA National Championship Opening Round and won 25-18, 25-10, 25-14.

Rocky Mountain has won four straight after being swept by then-No. 5 Midland (Neb.) in its season opener. The Battlin’ Bears defeated Dickinson State (N.D.) at home on August 26 in three sets. Rocky will play four matches against top-25 teams this weekend, including a rematch with No. 2 Midland on Saturday.  UJ has won two straight against Rocky and is 5-3 dating back to 2007.

Presentation is 1-5 going into the weekend and has lost two straight. Last time out the Saints lost in four sets to Mount Marty (S.D.) on the road, and their only win this season came in four sets against Kansas Wesleyan at the Hastings College Classic on August 27. Jamestown is 15-0 against the Saints since 2013.
