Valley City, N.D. (NEWSDAKOTA.COM) – The Valley City Hi-Liners started their regular season with a clean sweep of the Devils Lake Firebirds, winning 3 sets to nothing.

Set one started out rather tight until Drew Potratz was serving. Then the Hi-Liners went on a 5 point run to start to space out the set. Valley City would win set one by a score of 25-13

Set two was Hi-Liner dominance. They would own the pace of play to start the set by going up 5-1 at one point. They would take set two by a score of 25-12.

Set three was the closet set of the night. Devils Lake would remain with in a couple points or tied with the Hi-Liners for half the set until they kicked it up a gear with Kadie Kocka picking up back to back aces. Valley City would take the set and the match by a score of 25-16.

The Ivy Real Estate Group Player of the Game was Drew Potratz due to her outstanding setting and her serving.

Valley City next plays at Wahpeton on Thursday.
