JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With the school year officially underway in Jamestown, the Parks & Recreation Department is focused on organizing and preparing their fall and winter offerings.

Executive Director Amy Walters says the first of these is their grades 1-4 youth sport programs with the addition of their first street hockey event starting Sept. 10.

Walters says they’ll have youth, junior, and adult divisions for the street hockey tournament with registration open at jamestownparksandrec.com.

As the weather cools down, registration will also open for women’s and co-ed volleyball leagues in September.

Walters added that at this time, they are transitioning their winter sports building for winter activities and could use some part-time help.

She pointed out that they will have their fall and winter activity guide prepared to distribute as well.

Walters says they’ll have some new opportunities and are excited about the offerings they’ll have this fall and winter in the Jamestown area.
