Police Chief Scott Edinger addresses the Fire & Police Committee on Thursday, Aug. 25
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire & Police Committee heard a request from Police Chief Scott Edinger regarding the purchase of four vehicles in 2023.
Chief Edinger says they budgeted $210,000 for all four Ford Explorer vehicles.
Edinger says for the four vehicle order and purchase through RM Stoudt, he estimates a cost of around $217,740, which would be over the budgeted amount.
In a separate quote from Guardian Fleet Safety, the estimated purchase cost would be around $188,722 with estimated trade-in and the installation of equipment.
Edinger says there’s a reason he’s this far out from 2023 for the vehicle purchase.
Edinger says the Guardian Fleet Safety bid came in much lower than anticipated and recommended the city move forward with the quote.
The committee unanimously approved the Guardian Fleet Safety bid.
