JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The 2022-23 sports season is officially underway for the University of Jamestown as first year Athletic Director Austin Hieb rolls into month number 5 on the job.
Hieb, a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan and the University of South Dakota, comes to Jamestown after spending the past five years at Northern State University. Things are going well throughout the first four months at UJ for Hieb, who says he’s had a great time so far.
Hieb talked about the presence of Jimmie fans throughout the community as one of his main things that he has seen throughout the early months on the job.
As far as his relationships with the coaching staff and student athletes go, the new UJ AD wants to ensure the best experience for student athletes while also lending coaches a hand of support in any way he can.
The home schedule for the 2022-23 season opens up on Thursday, August 25th with the Paint Bucket Game for Jimmie Football. Whether its football, golf, volleyball, soccer, or cross country this fall, Hieb just wants to see lots of people wearing Orange and Black at every event.
