JAMESTOWN, ND. (jimmiepride.com) – The second-ranked University of Jamestown volleyball team begins the 2022 season Friday with a pair of matches at the Montana Tech tournament in Butte, Mont.

UJ takes on No. 12 Eastern Oregon at 2 p.m. Friday, then at 6 p.m. the Jimmies square off against (RV) Cornerstone (Mich.). Saturday, Jamestown plays (RV) Bushnell (Ore.) at 10 a.m. and Carroll (Mont.) at 4 p.m.

This year’s team returns a pair of All-Americans in Anna Holen (SR/LaMoure, N.D.) and Kalli Hegerle (SR/West Fargo, N.D.) as well as Ellie Holen (JR/LaMoure, N.D.), Averi Beyer (SR/Fargo, N.D.), and Aleah Zieske (SO/Spicer, Minn.), all of whom appeared in every match last season. Anna Holen enters the season needing 260 digs to break the Jimmies’ all-time record, and is just 94 kills away from reaching 1000 in her career. The list of returners also includes Lexi Olson (SO/Langdon, N.D.), Logan Sherman (JR/Marshall, Minn.), Kadyn Mehring (SR/Carrington, N.D.), and Darienne Johnson (JR/Eastpointe, Mich.).

Following the Montana Tech tournament, the Jimmies will be in Great Falls, Mont., August 25-27 for the University of Providence tournament. There UJ will play No. 13 Montana Tech, Arizona Christian, No. 10 Providence, and The Master’s University.
