JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Blue Jay volleyball head coach Sara Hegerle is set to begin her 12th season at the helm of the Jamestown program this year and with how last season ended, the Jays are still a little salty heading into 2022.

Coach Hegerle talked about how last season, too many opportunites fell through the hands of Jamestown as finishing matches became a struggle. Finding a way to finish those tough matches, along with motivating this years team to win those big matches is key this year.

Like most years, Jamestown kicks off the 2022 season with the Bismarck Public Schools Crossover on Friday, August 26th and Saturday, August 27th. The Blue Jays know that having success during that first week can be important and exciting, but its building on that throughout the year that’s crucial.

The lone state championship for Jamestown came back during the 2013 season under coach Hegerle, who says the goal every year is simple; get to state and win the whole thing.

That grit and toughness of Blue Jay volleyball will be on full display at Jerry Meyer Arena on Tuesday, August 30th in the first home match of the season against Minot.
