CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Carrington will continue partnering with Foster County to provide assessing services to the community.
Mayor Tom Erdmann says the agreement was reached when the state informed them they needed to have at least 80 hours of work for a hired assessor.
Erdmann says the County increased the cost from $7,500 to $15,000 in 2023. The city council approved the contract on Monday, Aug. 8.
Mayor Erdmann says they’ve also approved transferring $300,000 from their additional 1% city sales tax towards the street project from 2014.
Mayor Erdmann also shared more information on the latest committee reports including the Carrington Fire Department, Finance & Legal, Economic Development, Police Department, Public Works, and more.
After losing Police Chief Brandon Sola in a June motorcycle accident, Mayor Erdmann says they will begin seeking their next chief.
