KANSAS CITY, MO. (jimmiepride.com) – The University of Jamestown volleyball team finds itself in prime position for both the GPAC and NAIA preseason coaches polls, released this week.

The Jimmies, who finished 35-1 in 2021, claimed the top spot in the GPAC poll, earning 115 points and six of the 12 first-place votes. Midland (Neb.) received three first-place votes and 107 points, followed by Northwestern (Iowa), who had 98 points and the other three first-place votes.

UJ was the regular season and conference tournament champion, finishing 16-0 in conference play.

Jamestown received one first-place vote in the NAIA coaches’ preseason poll, topped only by Missouri Baptist with 18 first-place votes. The Jimmies were only 23 points (529-506) in back of the Spartans for the number one spot. Bellevue (Neb.) was picked third, followed by Marian (Ind.), Midland (Neb.), Park (Mo.), Corban (Ore.), Northwestern (Iowa), Viterbo (Wis.), and Providence (Mont.)

UJ begins the 2022 regular season with four games in Butte, Mont., taking on No. 12 Eastern Oregon, (RV) Cornerstone (Mich.), (RV) Bushnell (Ore.), and Carroll (Mont.)
