JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As part of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines, the Jamestown Regional Airport is required to host a triennial training event for emergency services.

The simulated “accident” will feature a situation, in this case a 50 passenger aircraft incident on the runway, where emergency officials including the Jamestown Police Department, Jamestown Fire Department, Jamestown Area Ambulance, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, and many others respond as if it were the real thing.

Airport Manager Katie Hemmer says they’ll have volunteers play victim in a triage situation Monday, Aug 15 at the airport. Members of the public are being notified that there will be a high presence of emergency service at the airport starting around 6:30 PM.

All levels of emergency response will be activated. We’ll have a summary of the simulation later this evening.
