JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Safety is at the forefront of many businesses in the South Central portion of North Dakota.

Some of the professionals at these businesses have now formed the South Central Safety Association to help reinforce that among their community and county partners.

Michael Hust works for Collins Aerospace and is the president of the newly formed board of directors.

Hust says the mission of the association is to bring safety to the forefront of all business sectors through education, training, and healthy environments. The board was formed with professionals from different industries including healthcare, construction, retail, and manufacturing.

With Hust serving as president, the rest of the board includes Vice-President Gina Thornton (John Deere Seeding Group), Secretary Jenna Bredahl (Jamestown Regional Medical Center), Treasurer Kim Murray (RM Stoudt, Stoudt- Miller & Precision Results Manufacturing), Dan Beckman (Agri-Cover, Inc.), Tanya Ostlie (Hillerud Construction), Josh Schroeder (FEI), and Jeff Mooridian (North Dakota Workforce Safety and Insurance).

While many members of the board are located in Jamestown and Valley City, Hust says they have recorded interest from numerous parts of south central North Dakota.

As the board finds its footing, they have decided at this time to meet quarterly as they figure out the best way to get more involvement from area industries. The board is discussing the creation of a website that potential members can visit to learn more about what they do and how to get involved.
