WEST FARGO, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Jacoby Nold had a no-hitter through five innings on Wednesday night and Max Fronk drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Post 14 Eagles defeated West Fargo 2-1.

Jamestown scored off the jump in the first inning with back-to-back doubles from Jackson Walters and Nold to take a 1-0 lead. The Eagles led 1-0 all the way through the sixth inning as Nold dominated on the hill, striking out nine batters and allowing just two hits.

West Fargo scored its lone run in the bottom of the sixth off an RBI from Caleb Duer to even the score at one. The Patriots got two quick outs in the seventh before Gage Orr doubled down the left field line to put the go-ahead run in scoring position. With two down and a full count, Fronk singled back up the middle into center to give Jamestown the lead.

Nold had thrown 102 pitches through six frames, but still found a way to record two outs with just four pitches before hitting his cap of 105. With two outs, Walters got the West Fargo leadoff man Brennan Haman to pop out and send the Eagles further into the winners’ bracket.

At the plate, Nold went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Walters, Fronk, and Orr all went 1-for-3 as Jamestown totaled five hits as a team. West Fargo was held to just two total hits.
