JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department was the recipient of a grant to help fund the training of a new K9 unit.
Police Chief Scott Edinger says the grant of $33,170 would help cover technology and a K9 unit.
Chief Edinger added the grant didn’t fully cover the K9, but thanks in large part to some donors, they were able to raise more funds to help with the cost.
Edinger says they will now be able to soon retire K9 unit Odin. He’s been in service with the Jamestown Police Department with handler Officer Andrew Stoen for the past 6 years.
Officer Corey Beckman and K9 Briggs will be training in Bismarck this August.
