JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public Works Committee gave recommendation to approve a change order regarding an emergency waterline replacement that took place.
The change order would decrease the project cost by $9,667.50 according to City Engineer Travis Dillman.
The total project cost was around $581,120,93. Dillman says they have to take some corrective action on a fence, which will be the final part of the project.
The committee also heard a request from the City of Valley City regarding the possible purchase of three City of Jamestown Solid Waste vehicles.
Sanitation Foreman Shawn O’Neill described the three vehicles in question.
O’Neill says they haven’t used the trucks in the last five years, but they have been utilized by Valley City.
Mayor Dwaine Heinrich asked if the city could receive some more information including miles and condition of the vehicles to have a “better idea” before making a decision.
No official offers have been made on the trucks. The committee moved the request to the city meeting in August without recommendation to acquire more information on the trucks.
City Engineer Dillman later gave updates on various projects underway in the city. One of these is the Highway 20 mill and overlay project.
He also provided some details on the current Mill Hill concrete pavement repair.
Water treatment improvements are also estimated to begin next week.
