JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council met in special session Thursday to hammer out some final details on the 2023 preliminary budget.
Recently, the proposed 2023 budget includes more than $9.61 million in general fund revenue and more than $9.48 million in expenditures. City Administrator Sarah Hellekson gave the latest information.
Hellekson says they have a planned deficit, but the same number of mills.
Some of the largest predicted expenditures in the budget include increased fuel prices, oil and diesel, electricity, and heating for city buildings and entities.
The preliminary budget was sent to the August 1 meeting for final approval. The council will vote on the budget October 3 following a public hearing planned for sometime in September.
