JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser returned to the Stutsman County Commission Tuesday with an update regarding a storage building.
Earlier this year, Sheriff Kaiser informed the commission that they were being “pushed out” of their current storage building shared with the National Guard.
At the last commission meeting, the Ringdahl EMS ambulance garage was given as a possible solution.
The cost of the building is estimated around $870,000.
He added there are also some cons with moving ahead with that location.
Bids were previously let for the project to build a storage building. Those are good until early August. Kaiser says the purchase price of a new building is estimated around $1.22 million. He added it would be built with needs for future growth, a better location, and low maintenance. The cons would be needed construction and prep dirt work that needs to be done.
Stutsman County Commissioner Steve Cichos moved to have Sheriff Kaiser pursue a purchase agreement with Ringdahl EMS.
The committee moved to allow Kaiser to pursue a purchase agreement. Commissioner Ramone Gumke abstained and Commissioner Mark Klose was not present.
