FLOBY, SWEDEN (Jimmiepride.com) – Two-time NAIA All-American Samuel Jackman became the first University of Jamestown men’s volleyball player to sign a professional contract, inking a deal with Swedish first division club Floby VK.

Floby took third in the 2022 season, their highest placing since capturing the league title in 1997.

“After the previous opposite left for another club, they looked to fill that point-scoring spot and I’m glad they chose me,” Jackman said. “Ever since I started my volleyball journey in my junior year of high school, I have worked as hard as possible to reach the professional stage.”

The 2021-22 Swedish regular season consisted of 20 matches and went from September 25-March 6. The playoffs, played in a best out of five format, went from March 10-April 26. Floby lost 3-0 in the semifinals to eventual league champion Hylte/Halmstad VBK, then defeated Vingakers VK 2-0 in the third place match.
