This year’s annual National Holstein Convention is now “in the books.”

The event brought together dairy farmers and their families from all across the country, to celebrate the registered Holstein cow. Almost a thousand people in the dairy industry attended the event — this year in Sioux Falls, South Dakota — from 40 states, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. one of them was Rafael Lopez

Technology and genetic advances continue to play bigger and bigger parts in each annual National Holstein Convention. This year’s event was no different. But something else – even more important – doesn’t change year-to-year. Holstein Association USA’s board president, Jonathan Lamb says   “I think it’s important for our members to get together at events like this, because we get to interact with each other, and that’s really the most important part of it for me – being able to talk to other members – more in the hallways than, really, in the meeting room. We are a very diverse organization and it’s very important for every sector – every segment – of this industry to be present here. It’s extremely important. We need different opinions, different ideas. That’s what makes this breed great.”

The National Holstein Association U-S-A is the world’s largest dairy breed organization.
Next year’s convention is June 23rd through the 27th in Lexington, Kentucky.
