VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Saturday I worked around the yard a bit and evidently I am not acclimated to the very hot & sticky air. Gosh it seemed hot! After having what seemed to be too much wind for a long time, a little breeze Saturday, would have felt nice though it is summer.
Last Thursday, I attended the Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) Meeting of which Strategic Planning was a large part of the agenda. With so many things currently changing in our world, a myriad of topics was discussed. Having enough power to “keep the lights on”, reliability of said power, working towards “green”, power generation and sufficient battery storage to name a few. As things happen in the power industry, I’ll do my best to keep you informed.
Remember the Polar Vortex that caused us to lose power for periods of time on that cold winter morning? The same rolling outages can happen in the summer due to high power demand for air conditioners, stoves, dryers, etc. So please arrange your schedules to reduce your power usage around breakfast, lunch & dinner times. Thank you.
Blessings, Respect, Kindness and Prayers, Dave Carlsrud Mayor of Valley City.
