Spring wheat quality kept improving this past week, with 70% of the crop in six selected states rating good or excellent compared to 66% the previous week and 59% the week before that.

Corn and soybean conditions, meanwhile, seemed to have hit a plateau in 18 selected states, with Iowa’s crops looking to be in the best shape among top producers.

According to today’s Crop Progress Report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), corn’s rating stayed at 64% good/excellent for the second consecutive week while soybeans lost a percentage point, going from 63% to 62% good/excellent.

In Iowa, corn was rated 71% good/excellent and soybeans at 79%.

Illinois, Minnesota and Nebraska were in-between, while Indiana’s corn and soybeans had lower ratings (47% for corn and 49% for soybeans).
