JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Parks & Recreation Department (JPRD) is celebrating all month long in honor of National Parks & Recreation month this July.

Since 1985, the month was created as a way to promote the benefits of healthy, vibrant communities

Executive Director Amy Walters says their month-long bingo game will encourage participants to get active and do something this month through Parks & Rec.

Once cards and bingos are achieved, Walters says there are different prizes. She added a coveted blackout would be a free membership to the Two Rivers Activity Center. She says they’ll also host Bingo at the Bunker on July 27th that is open to the public.

Walters says they are also planning events for Buffalo Days July 23rd & 24th.

The Meidinger Splash Park will also be host to the annual Splash Bash on Sunday, July 24th with free admission from Noon to 4 PM.
