FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – The body of Carrington, North Dakota Police Chief Brandon Sola was given a law enforcement escort from Minot to the Fargo National Veterans Cemetery north of West Fargo this morning.

Bagpipes played and there was a 21-gun salute.

Sola was killed in a June 28th motorcycle crash on I-94 near west Fargo. He was married with five children. He was a state trooper in Velva prior to joining the Carrington Police Department.

He was sworn in as chief late last year.

Sola was also a member of the National Guard’s 119th fighter wing in Fargo. Sheriff’s departments from Cass, Eddy, and Barnes counties were part of the motorcade along with police squads from West Fargo, Minot and Carrington.
