JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There are still opportunities for hunters to snag a North Dakota Deer tag for the upcoming season.

North Dakota Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says with the deer gun lottery held, more than 5,500 deer gun licenses remain.

More than 71,000 individuals applied for a deer gun lottery license, in addition to over 13,600 gratis applicants. The 2022 deer gun proclamation allows for 64,200 deer gun season licenses.

Leier says some tags are available in our area.

In other outdoor news, Leier says boaters are reminded to report accidents to the Game & Fish Department within 48 hours of occurrence.

A boat accident form is available on the Game and Fish Department website, gf.nd.gov, at any Game and Fish office or by contacting a local game warden.
