Two youngsters get close and personal with a small snake in 2021

CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Snake enthusiasts Russell Keys and Jennifer Weber are excited to return their Snakes in the Park in Carrington on Saturday, July 9th.

Keys says he and Weber started the event to give people a chance to see snakes, spiders, and other crawlies live and up close. But he adds there are other reasons they’re happy to hold this annual event.

He explained that this would allow them to show the public how snakes are taken care of in captivity.

Keys has cared for snakes for more than 20 years and calls it a “lifestyle” but adds it’s changed as he and other snake owners have learned about the reptile and how to better care for them.

It’s also a way he, Weber, and other participants can spread awareness and advocacy for snake owners all over.

Snakes in the Park will be held in the Carrington City Park from 10 AM to 8 PM. The event is free and open to all.
