JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Shortly after 6pm Tuesday evening the Jamestown Police were sent to investigate a report of a 17 year-old who had been sexually assaulted.

Officers were able to interview the victim in this case. The victim described the male suspect, who had followed the juvenile in a vehicle, near Klaus Park, in southwest Jamestown. The suspect enticed the juvenile to get into his car, to give the juvenile a ride. As the suspect drove the juvenile in and around the Jamestown area, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim. The victim did not know the suspect.

As the investigation continued, the male suspect was located and interviewed. The suspect has been identified as 71-year-old Thomas Lynn Remmick of Jamestown. Remmick was arrested on suspicion of the following charges: Corruption or Solicitation of a Minor, Sexual Assault, and for Failing to register as a Sexual Offender. Remmick was transported to Stutsman County Corrections, where he awaits formal charges.

This incident remains under investigation by the Jamestown Police Department.
