A child is measured for a free helmet at the 2019 Kids Safety Day in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Kids safety will be the focus of the annual Kids Safety Day on Thursday, June 30th.

Central Valley Health in partnership with the Community Health Partnership (CHP) coalition, puts on the annual event at the Jamestown Civic Center and gives entities a way to connect with the local community with prevention education and information.

Shannon Klatt is the Director of Health Promotion at Central Valley Health.

Numerous agencies will have representation in a variety of forms including:
-Central Valley Health
-Jamestown Regional Medical Center
-Essentia Health
-Law Enforcement
-Fire Department
-Emergency Management
-Headstart and Community Action
-Jamestown Ambulance
-Childcare Aware
-Hunters Education
-Red Cross

The event will also return the popular Bike Rodeo setup in the North parking lot. Klatt says this will be held outdoors this year weather pending.

Klatt says those who don’t have helmets will be provided one courtesy of Central Valley Health. A car seat check event will also take place during the event.

The event is free to the public and runs from 9 AM to Noon.
