JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Parks & Recreation Department’s Healthy Connections Park Program is underway.

The program provides a healthy, safe location for kids between the ages of 6 and 12 to join them at Meidinger, Leapaldt, and Nickeus Parks weekdays from 9 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 4:30 PM each day.

Executive Director Amy Walters says the program runs through August 5th.

“A majority of the program activities will be held in the parks; however, there may be special events that are planned outside of the parks,” Walters added. “We will remind children of these days as they arise.”

There is also a possibility that the program will be cancelled due to rain or bad weather. All closures will be noticed on the radio, on the JPRD website and social media pages.

Another exciting part of the program is the free summer meals that are served at each site.

Walters added that the summer park staff also help support their Wednesday track meets at the Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium.
