Carol “Tweety” Bellmore, 84, of Valley City, North Dakota passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at Sanford Health, Fargo, North Dakota.  The funeral service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, June 23 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City.  Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.   Burial will be at the Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, North Dakota at a later date.

Carol Lucille Tweten was born February 13, 1938 to Thorfin L. Tweten and Leva (Lind) Tweten in Battle Lake, Minnesota.  She attended school in Battle Lake and Henning, Minnesota where she graduated in 1956.  Tweety moved to Minneapolis and worked at 1st National Bank for two years.

Tweety married Leon Bellmore in 1958.  He was an electrician with Electrical Builders in Valley City.  They moved several times with Leon’s work and made many special friends along the way.  In 1970, they settled in Valley City.

Tweety was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Valley City Town and Country Club.  She was active in Scouts and the Fine Arts Club for 20 years.  Tweety loved to golf, quilt, bowl and play cards.  After raising her family, she worked as a florist for many years and spent many hours on the genealogy of four families.   Tweety also operated the switch board at the North Dakota Winter Show for several years.

Tweety is survived by her husband, Leon; her two sons, Paul (Colene) of Brandon, SD and Patric (Carla) of Fargo; her daughter, Jennifer (Jared) Gasal of Jamestown, ND; six grandchildren, Christopher (Danielle) Bellmore, Michael Bellmore, Lindsey (Andy) Yanish, Broc (Molly) Bellmore, Gavyn Gasal and Ginger Gasal;  two great grandchildren, Olivia and Lillian Bellmore (children of Christopher and Danielle).  She is also survived by her sister Janet Post; a brother, Kim (Jan) Schumann and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother Andrew and sister-in-law Carol Tweten.
