WASHINGTON, D.C. (NewsDakota.com) – the Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded 18 grants totaling $16,259,507 to support North Dakota airports.

Some area airports including Carrington Municipal Airport Authority and theAshley Municipal Airport received a portion of the funding. Their projects include:

Carrington – $1,150,000
Provides federal funding for the Carrington Municipal Airport associated with Carrington, North Dakota. This project rehabilitates 500 feet of the existing Taxiway A pavement and 4,200 feet of Runway 13/31 to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement and to minimize foreign object debris.

Ashley – $130,000
Provides federal funding for the Ashley Municipal Airport associated with Ashley, North Dakota. This project conducts a Runway 14/32 aeronautical survey for an area navigation instrument approach to plan for anticipated runway improvements.
