FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Surrey Mustangs committed six errors defensively and the number one seeded Loboes had nine hits as Lamoure/Litchville/Marion Loboes win 11-1 in six innings and advance to the State B Baseball semifinals on Friday night. LLM is now 14-1 overall, Surrey drops to 15-5 overall.
The LLM Loboes scored four runs before the Mustangs scored their first and only run of the game in the top of the fourth. The Loboes won by 10-run rule in the bottom of the sixth inning, when Tate Mart scored from third base after the ball got away from the catcher. Five batters had two hits each for LLM, Corbin Potts, Landon Piehl, Mart, Anthony Hanson and Garret Hebl, all singles. Potts knocked in three runs, Hanson two.
Junior Anthony Hanson worked four innings and was the winning pitcher, 64 pitches, one earned run, seven strikeouts, four hit batters and allowed three hits. Connor Johnson worked two innings of relief, 21 pitches, no runs, one strikeout, no hits and no walks. The Mustangs used three pitchers, Kekoa Munos started and took the loss, working an inning and two-thirds, 56 pitches, four runs, two earned.
The Loboes will play the winner of Langdon Area/Edmore/Munich vs. Beulah, on Friday night in the second semifinal at 615pm. Q101.1 and newsdakota.com will have the game starting about 6pm.
