VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liners tennis team began their state tournament out in Grand Forks on the Thursday. The hi-Liners came into the tournament as the #3 seed from the East.
The Hi-Liners started the day by dropping their first match 4 to 1 to Bismarck Legacy who entered the tournament as the #2 seed from the West. Valley City would follow that up with a 3-2 match win over the #4seed from the West, Bismarck Century. With the win the Hi-Liners would play for 5th place in the state and would face the #4 seed from the East, Fargo North. Valley City would win the match 3-2 to claim 5th place in the state as a team.
The individual side of the tournament will begin tomorrow in Grand Forks.
