BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 2022 State Track & Field meet at the MDU Resources Community Bowl concluded, and on the final day, the Hi-Liners had some athletes compete in some of the final events.
To start the day, Aiden Jacobson competed in the high jump finals and was able to give the team their first points of the meet. He would finish tied for fifth place with a jump of six feet even. Jacobson gave the team 3.5 points with this jump.
In the 200-meter final, Austin Shape tied his time from yesterday down to the hundredth of a second (22.31) which gave him 9th place. He was one spot away from receiving team points.
The final event for Valley City at the state track meet was the girls’ 800-meter final in which Reagan Berg and Greta Goven both competed in the field. However, this time they would run in different heats. Goven won her heat and finished 6th overall with a time of 2:20.68. This gave the girls’ team an additional three points putting their total at five for the entire meet. As for Berg, she finished 11th in her heat and 16th overall with her time of 2:24.84.
