BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Torrie Mack played hero against Bismarck Legacy for a second time this season as the senior drove in the go-ahead runs in the sixth inning for a 12-8 comeback victory for the Jamestown.

Legacy grabbed a 5-0 lead in the second inning before the Blue Jays clawed back in the game in the third by scoring three runs. Senior Jenna Fischer launched a two-run home run to left and junior Ella Falk hit a solo shot to get the Jamestown back into the game.

The Sabres extended its lead back to four, going ahead 7-3 and leading by that total until the sixth inning. In the sixth, Jamestown scored six runs off of four hits and two Legacy errors to go in front for the first time at 9-7. Mack cleared the bases with a three-RBI double with two outs in the sixth to give Jamestown the lead for good. The Blue Jays tacked on four more insurance runs in the sixth and Makenna Nold shut the door to get the win.

Nold worked three innings in relief for the Jays on Thursday afternoon, striking out four to get the win. Katie Falk started the game, going four total innings and giving up seven runs, but Jamestown did have two defensive errors. At the plate, Fischer and E. Falk both had home runs, Alyssa Gange was 2-for-2 with three walks, and Katie Trumbauer was 2-for-3.

With the victory, Jamestown moves into the winners’ bracket in the West Region and will take on #1 Dickinson on Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
