CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Loboes of Lamoure/Litchville/Marion come from behind to defeat the Cardinals of Carrington 4-1 in the Region 3 Championship game on Wednesday afternoon at Carrington City Park. LLM improves to 13-1 and will head off to the State B Baseball tournament at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, June 2-4, 2022. The Loboes are now two-time Region 3 champs, they finished runner-up last year at the State B to Langdon/Edmore/Munich. Carrington ends their season at 8-6 overall.

Carrington scored their one and only run in the top of the first inning, but some costly errors by Carrington helped the Loboes score three of their own in the bottom half of the first. LLM would tack on another run the next inning. The Cardinals had six errors in the game, LLM had only one hit. Junior Anthony Hanson picks up the victory on the mound, working six and a third, one earned run, 10 strikeouts, three walks and three hits. Connor Johnson came in and recorded the final out after Hanson reached his tournament maximum pitch count. Sophomore Grady Shipman started and worked three and a third, four runs, two earned, one strikeout, four walks and one hit. Hudson Schmitz came in after Shipman reached his tourney max pitch count and he worked two and two-thirds.  Hanson had the only hit for LLM, an RBI single.
