JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Civic Center will be seeing some maintenance and upgrades this summer.

Civic Center Director Pam Fosse informed the Civic Center & Promotion Committee Tuesday that a portion of the roof would be replaced soon.

The estimated cost of the work is around $250,000.

Fosse also reports that they will begin replacing the meeting room floor, a project estimated at approximately $30,000.

Nill Construction will begin conducting the replacement with vinyl composite in other areas including the north office, club room, Nierling, locker room 107 & 108, and the south locker room.

Outside in the parking lot, Fosse says Matt Schafer with the Jamestown Street Department is leading the parking lot lights replacement project.

Graybar Electric in Fargo has ordered LED light heads and Advantage Electric will be removing and disposing 32 lights along with changing the brackets and the heads when they arrive. That project is estimated to cost around $15,500.

Another project the Civic Center is looking to complete is the replacement of their outdoor railings. Fosse says the estimated $20,000 has not had any quotes just yet.

Fosse says she also intends to begin a stair safety project in June after the arena and concourse wax is completed. Current safety paint strips will be removed and replaced at an estimated cost of $3,000.
