DICKINSON, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay track teams competed in chilly conditions on Saturday in Dickinson as the Jamestown girls placed third and the boys took eighth at the West Region Meet.

Annie Nabwe won four events to complete another dominant day of competition for the senior. Annie won the 100-meter dash by running a 12.36 before taking first in three field events. Nabwe threw a new PR by tossing 151-11 in the discus, and then 130-06 with the javelin, and a shot put of 46-02. Yolanda Nabwe won the 100-meter hurdles and finished second in the 100-meter dash at 12.50.

Hunter Peterson qualified for state in the triple jump by placing fifth (34-05.00). Peterson was also part of the 4×100 relay team that placed second. Allysah Larson, Peterson, Julia Skari, and Y. Nabwe ran a 50.62. Larson, Skari, Haylie Hakanson, and Bernadette Belzer took second in the 4×400 relay as well.

Thomas Allmer was the lone first-place finisher for Jamestown on the boys’ side of the invite as he won the discus with a throw of 155-08. Brode Hillstrom qualified for state by running a personal best of 23.41 in the 200 meters. He finished sixth in the long jump. Allmer also qualified for state in the shot put.

Preston Kroeber and Devin Beach both earned third place finishes for Jamestown, with Krober taking third in the 300-meter hurdles and Beach in the triple jump. For full meet results, click here.
