LISBON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Five were seriously injured in a crash roughly 6 miles Southwest of Lisbon Wednesday evening.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a 2009 Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on 127th Avenue SE, which is closed due to a culvert washout caused by erosion. The Explorer entered the washout and the front of the vehicle struck the opposite embankment, coming to rest at impact.

Occupants of the vehicle were not wearing a seat belt and sustained serious, non-life threatening injuries. This includes driver Wesley Alinder, 43, of Lisbon, Passenger Wesley Alinder, 18, and juveniles age 14, 14, and 15.

Sanford Airmed transported three patients, utilizing two helicopters and one fixed-wing aircraft.

The crash remains under investigation. The NDHP was assisted by Ransom County Sheriff’s Office, Sargent County Sheriff’s Office, Lisbon Police Department, Lisbon Ambulance, Milnor Ambulance, Casselton Ambulance, Sanford Airmed, and the Lisbon Fire Department.
