STEELE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) In a first round game of the Region 3 Baseball tournament, Sheyenne/New Rockford scored three runs in the top of the first and never looked back as they upset the number three seed in the tournament, the Kidder County Wolves, 14-7. The Number six seeded Black Sox improve to 3-10 overall, they did not win an entire region game all regular season, KC drops to 11-6 overall.

For SNR, lead-off batter Connor Knatterud was 3-for-5 with three singles, two RBI and scored two runs. Luke Yri picked up the victory, working five innings, Kaden Jensen worked the last two innings. For KC, Isaiah Oster, Jace Larson and Grant Pfaff had two hits each. The Wolves used three pitchers, Collin Zimmerman, Blake Binder and Jace Larson.

Next game in the first round of the Region 3 Baseball tourney will be Friday at Tolna, as Midkota/Dakota Prairie takes on South Border at noon. There will be four games played in Carrington on Monday, May 23rd during the second round, games can be heard on Thunder 98.3 and newsdakota.com.
