Bobbie Olson passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, May 11, 2022 at her apartment at Bridgeview Assisted Living in Valley City, ND. Barbara Jean Breckheimer was born on December 31, 1929 in McHenry, ND, the eldest child of Clifford Breckheimer and Geneva Twete. She grew up on the family farm near Tolna, ND. She graduated from high school in McVille and then completed cosmetology school in Fargo.

On September 2, 1949 Bobbie married Denzil Olson and they made their home north of Litchville where they farmed and raised their six children. They later moved to Valley City. They loved snowmobiling in the winters and summers were filled with camping and fishing.

During their retirement years they spent many winters in Mercedes, Texas.

Bobbie enjoyed many creative outlets including quilting, family get-togethers, playing cards, gardening, cooking, and baking. She told jokes like no other. Her sharp mind, loving heart, and unyielding strength were an inspiration every day to her family and many friends.

Bobbie’s faith was strong and she loved going out to the country church at Zion where she had spent many years serving the congregation through Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her children Zona Olson (Neal Trautman), Cape Canaveral, FL; Dwight Olson, rural Litchville; Laurie (Jon) Kreilkamp, Buffalo, ND; Denise (Grant) Martell, Plover, WI; grandchildren Jesse Olson, Valley City; Eric Olson (Amanda Perkes), Forrest Park, OK; Christina Smith (Marcio Correa), Longmont, CO; Katie Smith (Greg Carlson), Fargo, ND; Jake Kreilkamp, Bluffton, SC; Ariel Kreilkamp, Fargo, ND; Geneva Weekley (Cody Hanson), Thompson, ND; Shannon Weekley, Grand Forks, ND; Hannah Martell, Boulder, CO and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Nola Bjelk and Charlene (Howard) Dapper, sisters-in-law Joyce (Francis) Dahl, Betty Stokka, Ann Breckheimer and Char Messner.

Bobbie was preceded in death by husband Denzil, brothers William, Monte, Lee, and Charles, children Nita and Gerry, and daughter-in-law Peg.

Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, Monday, May 16 at Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City. The funeral service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 17 at Grace Free Lutheran Church, Valley City with visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery, Valley City.
