JAMESTOWN, N.D. (PEO) – Kassidy Lynch and Kayla Reimers, both seniors at Jamestown High School, are recipients of prestigious P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) scholarships.

Local P.E.O. Chapter AB President Lorrie Pavlicek said Lynch was selected by P.E.O. International to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship. The highly competitive scholarship recognizes high school senior women who exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success.

Lynch plans to attend North Dakota State University in the fall and major in psychology.

Reimers is the 2022 recipient of the Charlotte H. Hansen P.E.O. Scholarship, earning $3,000 toward her degree at the University of Jamestown. Established in 2019, the scholarship honors Hansen, a P.E.O. member and resident of Jamestown who wanted to assure young women with potential for future success were awarded this scholarship.

Reimers intends to study computer science at UJ and participate in the university’s eSports program.

P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization dedicated to advancing education for women. Since its founding in 1869, the organization has given more than $383 million in scholarships, grants, awards and low-interest loans to help women achieve their scholastic goals.
