JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – High School graduation is right around the corner and the Jamestown Public School District is recognizing the achievements for the Senior class of 2022.
JHS Academic and Career Counselors have highlighted the success of the seniors this year. According to Counselors Alison Mack and Julie Skunberg, the JHS Class of 2022 has earned almost $500,000 in scholarship money, not including dollars earned from individual universities.
“Our local Dollars for Scholars group works very hard 12 months a year to offer scholarship for our JHS students,” Skunberg stated. “This year they awarded $38,600 to 46 students.”
Another major portion of the awards is the North Dakota $6,000 scholarship.
“This scholarship process takes place over a students high school career with continual monitoring of their 4 year plan with the goal to help as many students as possible meet all of the requirements to earn $6000 to attend any ND university,” Skunberg added. “This year we are proud to say that we have 60 students for a total of $360,000.”
Skunberg stated the career councilors at JHS are thankful for the Dollars for Scholars program and board along with local businesses that have spent time on the process and have donated money to students.
