Healthy Communities Coalition Working on Park Improvements

CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A recent survey conducted by Foster County Public Health and CHI St. Alexius showed concerns about outdated park equipment in Carrington.

Healthy Communities Coalition President Michelle Seil says they’re going to be working to address those concerns at the park located along 15th Avenue N on the west end.

Seil says equipment has been ordered and they’re hopeful funding will be available to install it this fall.

She added one challenge is trying to find unique equipment that will balance and fit the park.

The coalition is also looking to add bathrooms to the park as well for parkgoers.

Coalition Vice President Jen Whitman says she’s also working on bringing in a special new feature for the city.

One Gaga Ball Pit will be placed in the Westside park and one at the park near the Foster County Fairgrounds.

Siel says the goal of the Healthy Communities Coalition is to promote healthy lifestyles in the city, adding anyone who wants more information on this project can reach out anytime.
