Shari L. Carr, 69, Jamestown, ND, passed away on April 30, 2022 in Gilbert, Arizona with her husband and family by her side.
Shari was born on September 2, 1952, in Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of Richard and Dorothy (Rohde) Halvorson. Her family relocated to Jamestown, ND where she attended school and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1970. Shari continued her education in Fargo where she graduated from North Dakota State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology/Behavioral Sciences. While attending college, she met Ray Carr and the couple were married on March 16, 1974. They made their home in Jamestown where they raised their family. Shari worked as a Direct Care Supervisor at the North Dakota State Hospital. Upon retirement, she enjoyed spending winters in Arizona with her family.
Shari loved reading, cooking, history and gardening, as well as watching movies late into the night. She also had impeccable decorating talent. Shari would transform her home into a magical Christmas/winter wonderland where family loved to gather. She was quick witted and enjoyed getting together with family and friends. She loved playing cards, Scrabble and all other board games. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved her family beyond measure. She was a member of St. James Basilica in Jamestown.
Shari is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband, Ray Carr of Jamestown; her sons, Casey Carr of Fargo, ND and Brandon (Ashley) Carr of Jamestown; her daughter, Nichole (Jeff) Suko of Chandler, AZ; her sisters, Lynn (Tom) Wilhelm and Shannon (Casey) Henderson all of Jamestown; her brother, Scott Halvorson of New York, NY; and her five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy Halvorson and brother, Kelly Halvorson.
Mass of Christian Burial – 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2022 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.
Visitation – 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 15, at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Prayer Service – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 15, at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
