CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Infrastructure in Foster County is being damaged as a result of heavy rainfall in Eddy County.
Foster County Sheriff Justin Johnson reports 11th St N from 82nd Ave to 85th Ave. has been closed due to washouts under the road.
“There are road closed signs posted at both avenues, anyone caught driving around them is subject to a $250 citation,” Sheriff Johnson stated.
Eddy County Emergency Manager Lisa Thompson says heavy rains on May 9th have impacted multiple roads in the county, leading to a flood emergency declaration.
“Certain sections got up to six inches of rain, Thompson stated. “We’re still working on a number of roads that are impassable due to water on them and culverts. The substantial rainfall mostly occurred in Columbia township.”
Thompson added County crews have been out since 8 AM this morning compiling a list of damaged and impassable roads that will be reported later.
